X
A complete solution for internationalization. Actually combines internationalization (preparing the product for localization) and localization (translation and cultural adaptation).
XFrequently graphics and icons contain text or culture specific symbols that need to be translated or checked for cultural appropriateness. For example, a typical mailbox in the USA is totally different than one in Germany, thus if the software makes use of a mailbox symbol, this should be modified in order to be comprehensible in the target market.
XDuring translation, words in the target language may be longer than the ones in the source language, thereby causing some UI elements – such as buttons and menus – to be truncated and to mis-present the translated text. In such cases, each element should be re-sized to the text contained in it. Use can be made of tools which automatically re-size the element according to its text length.
